Financial Counsellor and Financial Educator

Margaret Kilby is a pioneer in the area of financial literacy education. For the past five years she has played an integral role in the Rotary program, Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) which educates Year 11 students about the potential financial pitfalls of buying their first car. In 2004, RYDA reached more than 10,000 students in New South Wales and is expanding to a nationwide program expected to reach more than 200,000 students.
Until 2002, Ms Kilby was involved with Ryde Eastwood Financial Counselling Service for 15 years. She was the Coordinator of the Service for eight years and Joint Coordinator for two years. Throughout that time Ms Kilby made a significant contribution to Ryde Eastwood and financial counselling services across NSW. She was on the executive of the Financial Counsellors Association of NSW for an extended period as Vice-President, Membership Secretary and Secretary.
Trained as a nurse, Ms Kilby is also Vice President of the Northern Community Forum Inc, and until March 2005 she sat on the Energy and Water Ombudsman Council of NSW for six years.
